y=-(x-2)^2+2 and y=(x+2)^2-2 .. what are the domain and range.. non permissable and a reciprocal equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

domain for both is all reals.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the range you'll need the vertex of both parabolas... can you give the vertex of each?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

btw.. what's a reciprocal equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the vertex -2 and 2? and how do u find the non permissables in this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the vertex for the first one is (2, 2) and the parabola opens downward. the vertex for the second one is (-2, -2) and the parabola opens upward. so the range for the first parabola is (-infinity, 2] the range for the second parabola is [-2, infinity)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do u write a piecewise equation for this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this the problem as it is written in your book?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk what you mean to write these two parabolas as a piece-wise equation...
