If some one has to start learning music, what shall be his first step?
I would recommend you piano, if you like strings, guitar is easy to get and is really fun. :D
hahaha... no frien i way not asking exactly abut instrument i m asking about the first step so dat one will get inspiration to learn music..;)
You could learn it from some great musicians such as Beethoven and Mozart, look how they develop their music growth and then you could do the same. :D
Look, you'll have to learn the main swaras in Music. @kapoor and if it's an instrument, you'll have to repeat them over and over
If it's vocal, then sing it again and again, and then sing the ragas, as they are the fundamentals.
Good luck!
Kapoor is Indian, so I am suggesting the Indian style of music to him.
Because I don't need a conversation on here about someone being in love and asking other people for personal info
Who asked about personal info again?
Um 1. It doesn't really matter now and 2. I really don't need you trying to tell me how to do my "job" ...If you're going to argue you really should have all your facts together ;p
I think this is the most relevant post one has ever seen in the music group :/ go ahead and delete it

^^^First step, first letter of the alphabet, corresponds to the number one, also the first letter of OUR alphabet, or the musical alphabet.
I'm a professional musician. The very first thing you need to do to learn music is to memorize the notes. The treble cleft on the lines are EGBDF going up. In the spaces are FACE going up. In the bass cleft on the lines are GBDFA going up and in the spaces its ACEG going up. I would suggest getting some musical flash cards or making them so you can memorize and familiarize yourself with the notes first. Good Luck!
Depends on the instrument. For example, for the violin, you would learn where the strings (G, D, A, E) were and then learn the fingerings from there. I would start with the naturals and then continue to the more complex stuff(:
No hunny, it does not depend on the instrument. When your reading music (sheet music) it's all the same. The first step to learning music is to learn to read it and understand it. The question was to learn music, not play an instrument.
If you play a flute, you would learn the treble clef. If you play the Bass you would learn the bass clef. If you play piano you would learn both. So, it kinda does help to know the instrument.
He wants to learn MUSIC not an instrument.
I understand. All I am saying is if you want to have an easier time of understanding it and put the knowledge into practice, it HELPS to play an instrument.
