Well, this isn't a poem lol.. It's more like a short story.. is that all of it?

OpenStudy (maheshmeghwal9):

no it's a poem{LOL} It is given in my textbook. A different type of poem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh, interesting.. Hmm what don't you understand about it?

OpenStudy (maheshmeghwal9):

There were two times in the poem when mother's face was telling different things. What was that main theme?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm lol, the first time was referring to her imminent death or mortality because her face was compared to a corpse .. The second time, "the poet compares her mother with a late winter's moon. winters are symbolic of an end of cycle( the end of the year) and here it symbolizes the end of life. just like a late winter's moon lacks warmth, brightness, the poet's mother too lacks strength as she was sleeping motionless in the car, brightness as she is pale and she's old and aging. so the cold, dim moon is symbolizing death." .. so basically the theme is the reality of death

I hope that helps lol!
