can someone tell me about the six kingdoms of organisms?
No.there is only 4 kingdoms in Domain eukarya Domain Archae 2) Domain Bacteria 3)Domain Eukarya 1.Kingdom Protista 2.Kingdom Fungi 3.Kingdom Plantae 4.Kingdom Animalia and each kingdom contains phylums
but my lecturer asked for six kingdom... >.<
I think he ask's include domains...
The number of kingdoms depends on which source you use. To be honest, I have no idea what the most popular number is these days. It's changed so many times over the years, and biologists don't seem to spend much time talking about Kingdoms anyway... the other levels of organisation are far more interesting. Anyway, Wikipedia tells me that the 6 Kingdom model consists of Bacteria, Archaea, Protista (or Protoctista, depending on who you ask), Plantae, Fungi, and Animalia.
oo..thak you so much! hehe (both of you :)
But there are other 6 Kingdom models too! I see one on Wikipedia that I've never heard of... and then there's this one, where a few of the names look familiar: Domain Bacteria Domain Archaea Domain Eukarya: Excavata, Amoebozoa, Opisthokonta, Rhizaria, Chromalveolata, Archaeplastida I think one of my professors likes to use that system. I've definitely heard him talk about Amoebozoa, Rhizaria, and Opisthokonta.
uhh..okaay..btw thanks a lot
I think u may clear from this link: http://video.about.com/biology/6-Kingdoms-of-Life.htm
