OpenStudy (anonymous):
A prism of height 12" has a rhombus with diagonals 6" and 8" for a base. Find the volume and the lateral area. I put in 288 for the volume and 24 for the LA and it was partial credit. What did I do wrong?

The lateral area is only half the product of the diagonals. They don't act like bases and heights.
