Which of the following creates a voltage difference? A. battery B. amperes C. charge D. resistance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A

OpenStudy (blues):

Actually, I think it is D. A battery is a voltage source, yes - but if you had a circuit and all it consisted of was that battery (incredibly simple circuit) or, equivalently, a battery with the terminals connected by an ideal wire which offered no resistance, there would be no voltage difference. The correct answer would be voltage drop across a resistor, with different potentials on either side of it.

well a battery has internal resistance...i think its A as @bronzegoddess said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

resistance doesn't cause a voltage difference..I find that absurd.. a batter causes voltage difference resulting in current.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes the answer is battery

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A
