there are 5 cards, 3 blue and 2 red. what are the chances of randomly drawing a blue card, not replacing it, then drawing another blue card?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know that the first chance is 3/5 and the second one is 1/2 but how to i combine those into one chance?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are 2 separate, you cant combine them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

according to the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its technically one action

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the probablility of drawing a blue then drawing another blue

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if it helps its multiple choice, the options are: a. 3/10 b. 3/20 c. 3/25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there are 3 blue cards and 2 red ones, a total of 5 cards, so the probablility of getting a blue is 3 out of 5, then not putting it back in there are 2 blues and 2 reds so the probability is 2/4 which is reduced to 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 3/10, multiply them both.

thanks :)
