What is the acceleration of a 5.7 kg sled which has the following forces acting on it: 10.2 N[F], 55.9 N [D], 3.7 N [B], 8.1 N[B], 6.6 N [F] and 55.9 N [U].

Use Newton's Second Law: F = ma. You should be able to solve this problem really quickly.

i tried it but did not get the right answer. do we add all the forces up?

I'm not sure what your notation indicates -- I am assuming the letters in the brackets indicate the direction? Try drawing a free-body diagram first and remember to include an axis, something like this:|dw:1339815053559:dw|
