Hi friends need help in solar panels..

mathslover (mathslover):

I am in trouble. ... want to know that how to make solar panels ....... I have to make a project and i have decided to make rotating solar panels ( automatic ) according to the direction of the sun..

mathslover (mathslover):

@apoorvk

mathslover (mathslover):

can u tell me some thing about solar panels working if possible then in hindi ,,,,

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

You cannot make your own solar panel right now, this is a very complicated process and I doubt you would have the know-how and the means to do it. As for the rotation part, you need not necessarily make that thing mechanically working or motorised, you could just fix it to a hinge (tightened) and show that its maneuverable, you just have to showcase the idea.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Okay in short, a solar panel simply converts the light falling on it into a potential difference, causing a flow of electrons, and thus 'creating' electricity.

mathslover (mathslover):

k ..i am preparing a powerpoint on it .. hope this will work for the presentation view

mathslover (mathslover):

@rajathsbhat can u share some ideas about this ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the automatic rotation part, yes.

mathslover (mathslover):

then please please tell

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think what you should do is fix a light sensor at one end of a pipe which has the same diameter as your sensor. If you fix this to the side of the solar panel such that the sensor can *see* the sun & programme the motor to rotate with the sun( i mean in that plane)when the light no longer reaches the sensor....... I mean this is how telescopes are programmed to lock on to an object to compensate for the rotation of the earth.

mathslover (mathslover):

can i know how should i fix the motor and that...all please tell

mathslover (mathslover):

@rajathsbhat and @quarkine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sry i dont know much about technology...i think you may adjust the rotation of the panel according to the angular vel of sun wrt the point where you want to fix the panel but that wont work if season changes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*researching*

mathslover (mathslover):

@rajathsbhat do u mean to research about this ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

mathslover (mathslover):

ok... i am making a ppt about this i will send u to edit this if there is any mistake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why don't you search for ideas in some of the DIY websites?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

should i help u with the principle of solar panels or steps to make a solar panel?

mathslover (mathslover):

yes please @AravindG i m totally confused

OpenStudy (aravindg):

hmm..take a look at this http://www.prlog.org/10259913-10-steps-on-how-to-make-solar-panel.html

mathslover (mathslover):

can u tell me something about rotating idea ...

OpenStudy (aravindg):

are u speaking of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fv4jifkXR9s

mathslover (mathslover):

no no .. not that i mean that which just rotates according to the sun direction

mathslover (mathslover):

@rajathsbhat and @apoorvk and @AravindG

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Fantastic effort. 2 typos though

mathslover (mathslover):

sorry but @rajathsbhat is this ppt perfect ?

mathslover (mathslover):

I request all that not to use this ppt by another boy's name

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean, "perfect"?

mathslover (mathslover):

@rajathsbhat i meant that is it perfect for a presentation ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think so...sure.

mathslover (mathslover):

thanks .....

mathslover (mathslover):

i am deleting the ppt
