OpenStudy (mathhater):

Write an equation for a line in slope-intercept form that passes through the points (4, 9) and (6,-1).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Slope Intercept form is \[y=mx+b\] To find slope remember \[m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)\] with that in mind \[m=-1-9/(6-4)\] \[m=-5\] Now plug in to solve to b. \[9=(-5)(4)+b\] \[29=b\] So in conclusion.... \[y=-5x+29\]
