i'm have just started developing a website and the first challenge i faced is selecting the programming languages.... i wonder how people select the sets of front end and back end programming languages and other elements... what are the criteria they look for and 'why?' do they select the language they select?
PHP. Because with PHP you can access databases (MySql), has ltos of functions, easy to learn, and you can develop really user friendly interfaces.
hmmm... i found html5 attractive with java, css3 as front ends and php with mysql as backends but i'm perplexed as to what people exactly look for when selecting a programming language?
BE careful. JAvascript occupies much space and it slows page loading. However, your suggest is pretty good. YOu should look from example and start for example modifying them. Download Joomla, use it as it comes, then start modifying it.
Doesn't matter what language you choose you just need to concentrate on core programming concepts and OOP programming concepts that are common to most languages such as (if else switch statements) learn that and its just a matter of finding similar methods across different API or maybe methods that are only specific to a certain API...mostly high level languages just compile complex mathmatics into easy to use methods....for example input a number into a method and the method performs complex math on it and if you inputed the correct data it outputs a desired result which then can be stored in variable or sent to another method for furthur processing. --calmchess
