Find the local and absolute extreme values for the given function on the specified interval. f(x) = 1+(2 + x)e^-x at interval [2,1]

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

umm i would take the derivative of this equation and set it to 0. then to find out whether this is the minimum or maximum you would take the second derivative to determine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

See that's the thing, I can't seem to find the derivative.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like, I'm having trouble.

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

ya you can....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is what I got: e^(-x) [-(2+x) + 1]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But I'm not sure whether it's correct
