finals tomorrow need a little help. if the problem just says solve 9x - 89 = 6x. nd my outcome is 89/3 would i leave it like that or would i solve the fraction for a decimal?

OpenStudy (precal):

leave as a fraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you just leave it but im not sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks

OpenStudy (precal):

math teachers like fractions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could do both... depends on what the teacher asks

OpenStudy (precal):

fractions are considered exact solutions, decimals are considered approximations unless the problem is written using decimals - always write solutions in fractions, whole numbers, or radical form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sometimes teachers say to leave as decimal, but yes do leave as fraction
