I MULTIPLIED THE 2ND EQUATION BY 2 AND GOT 16+-6=22. I ADDED IT TO THE FIRST AND 9+0=33. DID I DO THAT CORRECT ?

np i am willing to help whenever u need me. i got an a in math

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

\[\Large{\begin{matrix}-7x & + & 6y & = &11 \\ 16x & - & 6y &= &-2\end{matrix}\over 9x\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ =\ \ \ \ 9}\]

OpenStudy (lalaly):

-7x+6y=11 8x-3y=-1 multiplying the second equation by 2 -7x+6y=11 16x-6y=-2 add both equations u get 9x=9 x=1 now substitute x=1 in any one of the equations -7+6y=11 6y=18 y=3 so its B
