On the canadian side, during the summer the amount of water that spills over the falls in 1 min is about 1.3088 x 10 to the power of 8 L. How much water spills over the falls in one day? Express in scientific notation. I have the answer but don't understand the formula and the example I have doesn't help me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is 1.884672 x 10 to the power of 11L

I don't understand how to get to the answer

OpenStudy (lalaly):

sorry made a mistake lol

OpenStudy (lalaly):

let me write that all over again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you. I get it

OpenStudy (lalaly):

1 day = 24 hrs 24 hrs =1440 min u are given that 1.3088 x 10^8 in one minute so if a day =1440min just multiply the 1.3088 x 10^8 by 1440

OpenStudy (lalaly):

okay:D

OpenStudy (lalaly):
