Choose the graph below that correctly represents the equation 15x - 5y = 30. How would I graph this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let's find the x and y intercepts and draw a line through those two points...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

set x=0, solve for y to get the y-intercept. set y=0, solve for x to get the x-intercept.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0,6 and 0,0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or 0,6 and 0,2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

set x=0 so 15(0) - 5y = 30 ---> -5y = 30 ---> y=-6 so (0, -6) set y=0 so 15x - 5(0) = 30 ---> 15x = 30 ---> x=2 so (2, 0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first one (0, -6) is your y-intercept the second one (2, 0) is your x-intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now just plot those two points and draw a line through them...:)

Thank you(:
