Let f(x)=x^2 - 5x +2 and g(x) = f(x-4) Find the positive root of the equition f(x) = g(2)

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

g(2) = f(2-4) = f(-2) = 16 --> f(x) = 16 --> x^2 -5x+2 = 16 --> x^2 -5x -14 = 0 --> (x-7)(x+2) = 0 positive root is x = 7
