how do i check my answer to see if it is correct?
problem=Factor by grouping, if possible, and check: 8a^3-2a^2+12a-3

my answer is:
= (8a^3 + 12a) - (2a^2 + 3)
= 4a(2a^2 + 3) - (2a^2 + 3)
= (4a - 1)(2a^2 + 3)
I could not find how to check on wolfram please help me much appreciated

Checking the answer:


(4a - 1)(2a^2 + 3)

4a(2a^2 + 3) - 1(2a^2 + 3)

8a^3 + 12a - 2a^2 - 3

8a^3 - 2a^2 + 12a - 3


Since we get the original expression back again, this verifies the answer.

Keep in mind that 

(A+B)(C+D)

is the same as 

A(C+D) + B(C+D)


and you may know this as the FOIL rule
