OpenStudy (ledah):

Solve the combined inequality and select the answer that best describes the graph of the solution. 2x + 8 > 10 and 3x – 3 < 12 Open dot at -1, closed dot at 4, and shaded between the numbers Closed dot at -1 and 5, shaded between the numbers Closed dot at 1, open dot at 5, and shaded between the numbers None of the above

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solving both inequalities you get the solution set x<1 and x<5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the graph would be an open dot at 1 and open dot at 5 and shaded between the numbers that is not there so none of the above would be my choice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the one that best describes from these options should be open at 1 and closed at 4 i.e. (1,4]... as it is a subset to the actual answer which is (1,5)...

OpenStudy (ledah):

normally wouldn't you flip the greater than and less than or equal to signs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Ledah - i don't understand ur question...

OpenStudy (ledah):

nevermind...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you understood how we got the actual solution interval for this question right ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i disagree with xavier123's interpretation of "best describes" and answer choice but who knows if you have the answer please let us know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, that would actually help... :)
