The ratio of copper and iron in an alloy is 4:5 .If there is 25% impurity in copper then find the amount of impurity in 18 kg of the alloy.

Take the total weight and divide by the total number of parts. Multiply by the # of parts of copper. Find out what 25% of that is.

in the ratio 4:5 there is 8 kg of copper to 10kg of iron 25% impurity in copper then 25% of 8 = 2 so 2kg of impuirty
