@Preetha I want to discuss some of the things.
I talked to Ash, and in that talk, some confusions arose. He agreed that the voting process would be biased in some ways. I think we should return to the old process. There should be no voting this time. The committee can be unbiased in their work, and choose the best people who have filled the form.
I also have some questions here - \(\LARGE {\cdot} \) On what basis would the members of the committee become ambassadors? Can they become ambassadors if they have done good work which is impartial? \(\LARGE \cdot\) The voting process would be democratic, but some problems may be there. If we don't consider the voting process, then the members of OpenStudy would not be really happy. \(\LARGE \cdot \) A lot of members asked us if the age matters. What are the ways in which the age affects people who are willing to be ambassadors?
Ash suggested to bring some moderators in the team too, as they'd be some good resources. I think it's a good idea, though I don't know where to start with.
She already said colm is the mod for the group lol I"m gonna upload my file over here
Yeah I told colm to come here.. seems like he hasn't done anything yet @cshalvey
*sorry for tag*
Hi @ParthKohli - as I understood the process, I was going to allow you and the rest some time to come up with some plans (and of course, some questions). In terms of how this will work, due to Preetha's schedule, you can assume that I will be in charge of the day-to-day issues with the Ambassadors. With that said, how can I help?
I see. what do you think about US choosing the ambassadors?
And, how can the members in the committee become the ambassadors?
Lol Colm it says you are on like 3 questions haha and here parth lol
No, but if we choose the ambassadors, then how will we guys become one of them?
how will "we guys"..We are the committee we are automatically in
@rebeccaskell94 If you remember the reminder from Preetha, she said that we all won't necessarily be ambassadors. If one of us even becomes, what basis would he/she be made an ambassador? If we choose, and we can't choose ourselves, then how will we be on of the ambassadors?
one*
lol you don't have to tag me. Ohh when did she say that :O lol I missed it. and I think my guidelines for becoming an ambassador apply to anyone and everyone.
So, the main concern I have there is that it may unfairly bias the results and result in politicizing the process (which there have already been hints of in other threads). So, my vision would be for @ash2326 to lead the proceedings, as he has the most experience, and has acquitted himself more than admirably. Of course, it's not fair to rely on only one person, so I love that others are involved with the process. In terms of the 'first round' of Ambassadors, I don't have an issue with making five Ambassadors to begin with, and then allow the process to grow from there. Also, this shouldn't be a 'closed' group of people - in theory, *everyone* on OpenStudy should act as an Ambassador, and I like the idea of making the process as transparent and fair as possible. Additionally, keep in mind that it can be difficult to identify new users on OpenStudy, thus the more eyes the better...
Hehe today lgba warned me and he said not to act like one until you undergo the formal training. I responded with - "It's my duty to welcome new users on our site."
He has a good point, Parth. If you guys do want to limit it though, I'm not stuck on having to be an Ambassador. I already welcome people and help them, I don't need the title. Umm, so like, let's move this back to feedback.
Haha but I'd still like that 'Ⓐ' on my profile, because I saw 2 people who said that I am not an ambassador yet, so that is again one problem.
When I welcomed a user, they were complaining to me for acting like an ambassador when I am not one.
Why are you so stuck on this stupid A? haha it doesn't matter. If the new users don't like they will get over it. Just welcome them, help them out, and move on bro
lol nice comeback
;)
Let's plan it out there :P
i know im not supposed to be in this argument...but i just couldnt resist...shouldn't the ambassador help the new users until they are comfortable with the site? "welcome them, help them out, and move on"....if you do something from the heart..why the need to move on? lol. im just pointing out my views...like i said i even dont have a say in this..im just butting in like the little butter i am
lol you're such a salty butter ;P good points though
