Which set of numbers represents the lengths of the sides of a right triangle? a.)7, sqrt47, 9 b.)5, sqrt39, 8 c.)3, sqrt29, 6 d.)9, sqrt10, 11

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

To test each one of these, square all 3 of the numbers in each choice. After squaring, if one of them is the sum of the two others, then congratulations! you found yourself a right triangle :)

still don't get it :/

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

for instance, choice A \[7, \sqrt{47}, 9\] Square the lot :) \[49, 47, 81\] Look at the biggest, is it the sum of the two smaller ones? if it isn't, then those are not sides of a right triangle. Do you get it now? :)

YUP! Thanks :)

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

NO problem :)
