Which of the following statements is true? - An exponential function is the inverse of a logarithmic function. - The base of the logarithmic function f(x) = log5x is unknown. -The range of the logarithmic function f(x) = log5x is all real numbers less than zero. - The domain of the logarithmic function f(x) = log5x is all real numbers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think the first one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

na i checked that one, its the opposite.. a logarithmic function is the inverse of an exponential

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and its not the second one because the base is 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ive never been able to understand the domain and range so thats why its confusing me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the domain of logarithmic function is always positive numbers and range is real numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be the third one right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says all real numbers less than zero but your range can also contain positive numbers like log(25) base (5) = 2...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright, im just gunna pick that one, because the others ones dont fit either.. but thanks for the help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one more thing... why is first one not true ??
