Helen is planning a class trip. for every 6 children 1 adult is needed. one class has 24 children ; one class has 26; and the last one has 28children. each class has 1 teacher. How many OTHER adults are needed for the trip ?
Ok, so for the first class since 24/6 = 4, and there is a teacher already in that class, you get 3 other adults for class one. Then for class 2, 26/6 cannot have a whole number so, you have to have 4 adults for sure (Look at the first class), 1 being a teacher, but since it is 26 students, you need an extra adult, therefore for the second class you need 4 OTHER adults. Finally for Class 3, its is the same case as Class 2, you need 4 OTHER adults. So in total you need 11 other adults. Let me know if you need something cleared up.
