Part a.) Write your own function in function notation. For example: f(x) = x + 1. Using your function, find f(2). (5 points) Part b.) Explain in your own words how to find the value of f(2) when you are given a function f(x). (5 points)

Well, since you don't have a number for x, it would just be 1x. So your problem would be {2=1x + 1.}

is this part a and b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, this is part A. For part B, you have to solve the equasion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can help me solve it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure. So, since the equation is 2=1x +1, you have to subtract one from both sides, so it would be 1-1, and 2-1. 1-1 cancels out, so that equation is out. So now, you have 1x=1, and you divide 1x by both sides. So, now, x just equals 1, since 1 only goes into itself.
