Atrial valve would be really really unpractical to measure pulse, Carotid artery or Radial&Ulnar arteries are the most common places to measure.

Femoral Artery is possible but it would look really riddicules jogging (Femoral artery is near the groin area). I don't even know where the Simian artery is to be honest.
