In studies scientists have found that the level of carbon dioxide has increased. What is an explanation for this? A. volcanoes erupting B. humans use of fossil fuels C. climate change D. photosynthesis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think human's use of fossil fuels but I'm not positive.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Elly is right. A is wrong because volcanoes will produce sulfur dioxide gas not CO2. C is wrong because climate change is (probably) a result of increased CO2 levels, not a cause D is wrong because photosynthesis takes in CO2 and produces oxygen - in other words it acts to reduce CO2 levels.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Richie66 is right the only thing I would like to add is that none of the natural processes that occur on earth could raise the co2 levels as fast as the consumption of fossil fuels by humans(reason the large human population:and, therefore, many fossil fuel burning machines). Most natural co2 production are so slight they would probably be un-noticed in studies.

thank yall so much
