I'm explaining it that's what this place is for, the equation is 4x=x+78 where x= the number we are looking for the the word problem says that 4 times a number is equal to a number plus 78. That's where you get the equation. The answer though is 26

Just transpose x to the other side and divide both sides of the equations by 3 :)
