when your replying to a question how come it takes so long to type anything because it isn't connection speed or a virus? or is it because there are so many people online?

That would be our lovely lag haha It happens sometimes. It typically is not the site, though sometimes it is. 
Make sure you are using an updated browser and hopefully all will go well! 
I use Firefox 13, I think, and I haven't had any problems with it yet. Good luck!

As rebecca correctly pointed out, there is (sometimes) a significant amount of lag on the client side of things. Our next release should provide some significant performance boosts. Currently we do a lot of sorting in the browser, and we're moving that to the server in the next version of the site.
