OpenStudy (anonymous):
to bind RNA polymerase (for transcription to be initiated) to bind repressor proteins(for transcription to be blocked)... coz the repressor takes in the binding site in operator so that RNAP could not bind...... if RNAP doesnt bind, no transcription.........
