Which of the following inequalities is true? A) 17 > 17 17 <-5 B) 19>-7 19<19 C) 18 > 17 18<-5 D) 6 > 5 6<7 E) 8 > 53 8 <-41 F) 18>-7 18 <19

Do you know what the different signs mean? Read > as "is greater than" Read < as "is less than" So if you see 1 >0 Read it as "1 is greater than 0" Which is true =) If you see 6 < 5 Read it as "6 is less than 5" Which is false =(

Try these on your own and ask me questions =D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it C & D? and maybe F?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Explain to me why you think it is those 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Never mind it's not C. -_- D is true because 6 is greater than 5 and 6 is less than 7. F is true because 18 is more than -7 and 18 is less than 19. Am I right now? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good job =) Can you tell me why A, B, C, and E are false?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ahhhh, thanks! Well, the reasons there wrong is because they don't equal out, and I used what you told me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Excellent! My pleasure! =D
