Is Lewis dot structure and dot and cross diagram the same??

It's not same as

lewis structure draws out the molecule. You use lines to represent bonds (electrons). Using lewis structures is much more common, quicker, and easier to do.

Dot structures show the individual electrons. Kind of tedious but good to get going I guess. You'll have one test on them and never do them again.
