new radius = 0.75d

Area change = (0.75^2 - 0.5^2)/0.5^2 x 100% = 125%

not exactly..
i used orthodox method.
let diameter be x
so area = pi(x^2)/4
new diameter = 3x/2
so new area = pi(9x^4)/4
so % inc in area = (pi(9x^4)/4 - pi(x^2)/4 )/pi(x^2)/4 * 100
which directly gives 125%
