A shirt is on sale for 30% off the regular price. The regular price is $27.00. What is the sale price? $8.10 $18.20 $18.80 $18.90

Parth (parthkohli):

The sale price is simply 30% of 27 What's 30% of 27?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe it it 8.10

Parth (parthkohli):

30% is the same as 0.3 'of' means multiply. So you multiply 0.3 and 27.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or maybe not x(

Parth (parthkohli):

First find 27 * 3 = 81 then shift the decimal one to the left 8.1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait.. no, yes it is..

Parth (parthkohli):

Yes you're correct ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought that i had to multiply .30 times 27

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.3 and .30 is the same thing... u can multiply either

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or u can do it parths way :p but i just take 30 / 100 = .3 then multiply .3 • 27 = 8.1
