which set of numbers could represent the lengths of the sides of a triangle? a. 9,12,21 b. 8,12,24 c. 8,12,18 d. 9,12,15

OpenStudy (btaylor):

a couldn't, because 9 + 12 isn't greater than 21. b couldn't, because 8 + 12 isn't greater than 24 both c and d could, because a+b>c and b+c>a and a+c>b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so can you help me solve it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that from pre-Algebra

OpenStudy (anonymous):

algebra 1B i believe

OpenStudy (btaylor):

the answer is both C and D. If it is multiple choice, are you sure you didn't post it incorrectly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im sure

OpenStudy (btaylor):

is it asking for a right triangle? Because then D. would be the answer.
