Which factor can you cancel from the numerator and denominator to simplify 4 times x minus 16 all over 12 minus 3 times x.? [hint: (a-x) = - (x - a)]

so we got (4x-16)/(12-3x) first what we will do is factor out a 4 from the numerator and factor out a 3 from the denominator to get 4(x-4)/3(4-x) now let us use your hint and take out a negative from the numerator to get (-4(4-x))/3(4-x) now 4-x cancel out and we are left with -4/3 :)
