Can someone please help me?(: examine the animals and plants that live around your home or in a local park choose one kind of plant or animal that lives there identify the specific species name of the plant or animal that you chose choose five factors that might limit the size of population of this species identify each of your five limiting factors as a biotic, or abiotic factor

OpenStudy (blues):

Hmm, this is rather difficult to help you with because we don't actually live where you do or near your local park. Is there any aspect of the instructions which are unclear and you would like us to clarify or explain better?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dunno :/ I'm just confused would it work if I just chose a random animal that lives around here?

OpenStudy (blues):

Animal or plant - plants might be a little more abundant, depending on where you live. So once you have chosen your plant or animal, identify it. Animals might be easier to identify. For example, if you chose a squirrel, you would have to look up info on the kinds of squirrels that live in your geographic region and figure out what species it is. Or just pick one species of squirrel that lives in your geographic region. Is that much clear?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea, I was already thinking to choose a chipmunk :3 I like animals better than plants :3

OpenStudy (blues):

Once you have picked a chipmunk (better than squirrels - friendlier) it asks you to think about factors that might limit their population size. Lack of food might be one. Or presence of predators might be another. Then it asks you, is this limiting factor a living thing (i.e, biotic) or a non-living thing (i.e., abiotic).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm, okay:) Thanks... I'm just trying to think of five or six limiting factors...:/

OpenStudy (blues):

The two I suggested should get you started - and they are fairly easy to think of. Imagine you are a chipmunk. What would make life hard for you (i.e., kill you?) and what would make it easy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cars would make my life hard :o I might get squished :p Okay, I got it from here, thank you!(:

OpenStudy (blues):

Cool. Glad I could help. :D
