at http://www.theponytail.net/wiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SigmaAlgebra in example 3, In iformation terms, why G is equivalent as observing only the first coin toss.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whereas G={empty set, {hh,ht}, {th,tt}, omega}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@satellite73 @TuringTest plzzz help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well this one took me a while, because it has been ages since i saw sigma algebras, although it is an excellent way to start with probability

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are lumping {hh, ht} in to one slot, in other words collapsing them in to one item. those are the two possibilities if you toss two coins, and the first one is a head

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please tell me that in the same example it has mentioned B=(3/4,6) what does this mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

likewise you are lumping {th, tt} in to one slot and again those are the two possibilities if the first coin is tails

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok now you are going to make me read and think some more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my first question is now clear but I am stuck on this B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the answer is i have no idea. it says "as before" but i do not see a before. sorry i cannot help with this one maybe zarkon has an idea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Zarkon can you please help me?
