OpenStudy (konradzuse):

integral of x^3/(x^2+8) I need help with the long division please...

OpenStudy (konradzuse):

I'm really bad at long division with variables, any help would be appreciated :)

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

x ------------------- x^2 + 8 ) x^3 x^3 + 8x -------- - 8x = x - 8x ------ x^2 + 8

OpenStudy (konradzuse):

where do we get the 'x' for the 8x, from the x we got from x^2 into x^3?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

we multiply x^2 + 8 by x ( the x above the ----) to give x^3 + 8x subtracting that from x^3 gives us the - 8x

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

- now i understand what you said - the answer is yes

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

how do we integrate the 8x/ x^2 + 8? |dw:1340401057192:dw|
