look at the triangle. 13 is the left side of the big triangle and 14 is the right side of the big triangle right?

I believe we are dealing with similar triangles and if that is the case we have; 6:13 :: (x+9):(x+23) 13(x+9) = 6(x+23) 13x + 117=6x +138 7x=21 x=3
