Simplify (g − 16)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That cannot be simplified any further.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

srry its actuall 1/4(g − 16)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

1/4g-4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh. It looks like this now after expanding : 1/4(g) - 1/4(16) 1/4(g) - 4

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

multiply g by 1/4 and -16 by 1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then you distribute the 1/4. 1/4(g - 16) = 1/4g - 16/4 = 1/4g - 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i get 4 from that ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1/4 * 16 is a quarter of 16 It's same as saying -16/4, which equals -4

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

errr 1/4(-16) = -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o ok thanks
