2x-5 if x is less than or equal to 0 f(x)= -x+1 if x > 0 How do i find the domain and range and points to graph it

|dw:1340507653311:dw| after the F(x) there is this symbol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can anyone figure this question out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am lost

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Domain- All the possible x values you can plug into the equation and still obtain a real result. Range- All the possible y values that could result by plugging in every possible x

OpenStudy (eyust707):

to remember which is which: "domain, range" " x , y " they come in the same order

OpenStudy (eyust707):

is there any x's you are not allowed to plug into that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i dont know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Plot each equation as you would normally, for the first, you want to plug in numbers that are 0 and below, for the second, any numbers 1 and above. You should be able to find the domain and range based on this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For X =< 0, use the first function to plot, for X > 0, use the second function to plot.
