OpenStudy (roadjester):

Help please. Describe and sketch the surface in R^3 (3D) represented by the equation x+y=2.

OpenStudy (shane_b):

Do you know how to put the equation in terms of y?

OpenStudy (roadjester):

Yes, it's putting it in 3D that I don't know how to do. This isn't a xy-plane problem which is algebra. It's Calculus III.

OpenStudy (shane_b):

You only have 2 dimensions in the equation...x and y.

OpenStudy (roadjester):

True, which is why I need help...

OpenStudy (shane_b):

x+y=2 is just a line. You can draw it in 3D using just the XY plane...with the Z axis in there for completeness.
