Yup I agree. Before the telescope, the methods that astronomers used to study Space were very limited and therefore, people used many different structures and objects that varied on location. Stone henge is an example of this. Stone henge was used to point to midsummer sunrise. Most generally though, they used their eyes to observe Space since there was no telescope.
