There was quite a bit more to this, but Kennedy's promise not to invade Cuba was part of the deal made.

The key exchange was that the US would remove intermediate-range Jupiter missiles from Turkey.  It's strange that this isn't mentioned in your answer choices, but then, it was kept secret for a long time, because it made the Kennedy Administration look weak. The conventional wisdom was that JFK stood tall and Khruschev backed down and took his missiles out in return for not much more than Kennedy lifting the blockade and publically promising not to invade Cuba.

This is not the case.  Kennedy traded away a serious and useful deterrent in Turkey to get those missiles out of Cuba.
