Which of the following shows the correct process of the genetic code being passed from DNA to protein? A. mRNA leaves nucleus, transcription, translation B. mRNA leaves nucleus, translation, transcription C. Transcription, mRNA leaves nucleus, translation D. Translation, mRNA leaves nucleus, transcription

OpenStudy (blues):

Transcription is the process in which the two DNA strands are separated and one of them is used as a template to make mRNA. The DNA never leaves the nucleus, so where does transcription happen? Translation is the process in which the transcribed mRNA is used by the ribosome to make proteins. Ribosomes exist only outside the nucleus, so where does translation happen?
