Find the slope with points on the line (-2, 1), (3, 9). Am i supposed to add these?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, use the formula to find the slope \[m=y2-y1/x2-x1\] where (-2,10)=(x1,y1) and (3,9)=(x2,y2) replace those values into the equation and then you get the slope. if the number is negative, it is decreasing. if it is positive, then it is increasing. it can be a whole number or a fraction.

\[m=9-10/3-(-2)=-1/5\] the slope is decreasing
