The line passing through points (-1, 7) and (-1, 3) is: a. vertical b. horizontal c. increasing d. decreasing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first determine slope aka (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

See, here x coordinates are not changing ie -1 and -1 in both the points.. Only the y coordinates are chanigng.. So, line having x coordinates same and y coordinates changing will be parallel to y-axis.. |dw:1340601202434:dw| So what will be your answer??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the slope formula. If it's 0, then it's horizontal. If it's undefined, it's a vertical line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Vertical?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, you are correct...

Thank you!
