why do couples break up?
hmmmmmmm
Cheating, trust issues, etc.
& people who have low self esteem issues..
being gay too;D
Initially, people in couples experience romantic love and passionate love - the "spice" element in relationships created by oxytocin and dopamine secretions from the brain. Eventually, though (usually after a few years), these chemicals give out. The couple must now stay together using companionate love (personal compatibility), or break up if they are not compatible. Some argue that this is an evolutionary advantage, because the few years that romantic and passionate love occurs allow the male and female to have offspring, and protect and nourish the offspring through its most fragile first years. After that period of time, the couple's attachment is no longer needed, and the partners are free to find another mate to repeat the cycle.
