Question

I had an idea and yeah wanted to share it with you guys. I was wondering would it be possible if we could do our community service hours helping others on OS? It would be a nice way to get them, and Idk was just curious to ask.

You have community service hours? D: I'll assume it's for the scouts ;p

And someone else asked this question as well and I believe the reply was basically that there is no real way of telling what your doing while you spend time on the site. So if you did like 3 hours of work and have 20 questions answered, there's no way of telling if you answered those questions in the first 5 minutes.
I think it's a good idea if it could be closely monitored.

Well I need community service hours so when I graduate I can get a scholarship and yeah it's pretty fun to help people here. If there was a way we could sort of monitor it or find a way that would make it work then yeah I think it would be great.

Hi @Loujoelou - great question, and yes, we have looked into this in the past. The main issue here is getting your institution (in this case your school), to recognize time on OpenStudy as a form of community service. You can certainly ask them, and I am more than willing to help with answering questions from any administrators who may wish to contact us at contact@openstudy.com.

Well, I assume he would want some sort of validation or support from us. For example, that you were actually helping people (as opposed to just hanging out online). Give it a shot, let me know what he says, and I'll see how I can help :)

I just came back from my appointment and she approved of it :) She was just wanting to know if there would be a way to show proof of it or something like that. Maybe the certificate thing would be proof right? I don't know.

k. Yeah she just mentioned if there was a way to get proof that I was helping. I'm gonna start making a log that my parents will sign/principal also for community service starting now :)
